Located in the idyllic village of Laughton, our luxury en-suite cabins provide the perfect retreat for couples and families seeking both relaxation and adventure.

• General information

  Light Farm is situated between the South Downs and The Weald, offering guests an authentic farm stay experience amidst approximately 40 acres of mixed arable and grazing land.

  Our commitment to sustainability is evident through our use of renewable energy sources, including solar panels and heat pumps, fulfilling a significant portion of the farm's energy needs.

  The farm is also home to a working apiary, and guests may have the opportunity to purchase our farm-produced honey, subject to availability.

• Accommodation

  Our bespoke, fully insulated cabins which sleep up to 4 are thoughtfully designed to blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings and are suitable for year-round accommodation. Each cabin features:​

  • Comfortable fixed king size bed
  • Double sofa bed
  • Dining area
  • Well-equipped kitchenette with sink, hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, and toaster
  • WiFi
  • TV
  • USB charging sockets
  • En-suite shower room, with shower, toilet, heated towel rail, and wash basin, hair dryer and complimentary toiletries
  • Free on-site parking
  • Secure bike storage racks
  • Use of firepit/barbeque. (Logs, charcoal, and fire-starting packs are available to purchase at additional cost)

  Bed linen, towels, and toiletries are provided for your convenience. Please note that our cabins are strictly non-smoking, and, due to the nature of our working farm, we are unable to accommodate pets.

  Guests at Light Farm can enjoy a range of facilities designed to enhance their stay:​

  • Free on-site parking and secure bike storage racks.​
  • Use of a firepit/barbecue, with logs, charcoal, and fire-starting packs available for purchase (please be aware that during particularly dry spells, the use of firepits and barbecues may be restricted to prevent grassland or crop fires).​
  • On-site EV charging facilities (available at an additional cost).​

  Subject to availability, local providers can supply continental breakfasts, cream teas and hampers with a minimum of 24 hours' notice. Please contact us for further information; note that this is a third-party service.

  At Light Farm, guests are encouraged to explore the natural beauty and wildlife of our working farm. The farm is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including three species of owls, woodpeckers, buzzards, kestrels, and, for the fortunate observer, the occasional kingfisher by the pond. Stargazing enthusiasts will appreciate the clear night skies, free from light pollution, offering stunning views of stars and constellations.​

  The surrounding area boasts a wealth of attractions and activities:​

  Laughton Village: A short stroll leads to the historic village of Laughton, featuring a traditional country pub, a village shop, and a 12th-century church.​

  Glyndebourne Opera House: Just a ten-minute drive away, this world-famous venue hosts renowned opera performances.​

  Lewes: The historic county town of Lewes, located five miles west, offers landmarks such as Lewes Castle, Lewes Priory, and a variety of independent shops and eateries.​

  South Downs National Park: Ideal for walking and cycling, with the South Downs Way providing extensive trails through scenic landscapes.​
